Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may and may not do when using Superbasic Finance. It is part of our Terms of Service, and applies to everyone who uses the Service.

Use the Service responsibly

You agree to use Superbasic Finance only for lawful, personal and household money management, and only in ways that respect other people and the integrity of the Service. You are responsible for everything done through your account, including anything done with a personal access token you created.

Things you must not do

Accounts and access

  • Connect financial accounts you do not own or are not authorized to access.
  • Access another person’s account or data without permission, or share your credentials so that others can.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

Security and integrity

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure, except as expressly permitted by our responsible-disclosure process.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data, or interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Introduce malware or any harmful code, or use the Service to do so elsewhere.
  • Circumvent rate limits, usage limits, or other technical restrictions, or place an unreasonable load on the Service.

Misuse of the platform

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits.
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service other than your own data through provided features.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as we expressly permit.
  • Use the Service for fraud, money laundering, or any illegal activity, or in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or sanctions program.
  • Upload or store content you do not have the right to, or that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.

Shared and public spaces

  • Post content to the feedback board that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or that targets another person.
  • Post someone else’s personal or financial information, or use the board to advertise, spam, or promote an unrelated product.
  • Manipulate votes or rankings, for example with duplicate accounts or automated voting.
  • Use another member’s financial information from a shared workspace for anything beyond managing that workspace — being able to see it is not permission to copy, publish, or act on it.

Automated and programmatic access

You can create personal access tokens in your account settings to use the API programmatically. Treat a token like a password: keep it secret, do not share it or embed it in something other people can read, and revoke it as soon as it is no longer needed or you suspect it has leaked. Use the API only within any documented limits and only with tokens issued to your own account. Do not abuse, overload, or attempt to bypass authentication on these interfaces.

Enforcement

Violating this policy may result in warning, suspension, or termination of your account, removal of offending content, and, where appropriate, reporting to law enforcement. We may also take action to protect the Service and its users, as described in our Terms of Service.

Reporting abuse

If you become aware of misuse of the Service, or content that violates this policy, please report it to support@superbasicfinance.com. Security vulnerabilities should be reported as described on our Security page.
