Data Deletion

Last updated: June 25, 2026

You can remove your data from Superbasic Finance at any time — disconnect a single bank, delete a bank's history, or permanently close your account. This page explains each option and what happens to your data.

Removing a connected bank

From the workspace drawer in the app, each connected bank offers:

  • Remove from this workspace — stops showing the bank in the current workspace but keeps it in your bank library and in any other workspace it is attached to. No data is deleted.
  • Disconnect everywhere — revokes Superbasic Finance’s access to the bank at Plaid. The data already imported stays as manual records so your history is preserved; you can edit or delete it later.
  • Delete permanently — revokes access at Plaid and deletes that bank’s accounts and transactions from Superbasic Finance. To confirm, you re-type the institution’s name. This cannot be undone.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your entire account and its data from your account settings in the app:

  • Web: sign in at app.superbasicfinance.com, open Account, and choose Delete Account.
  • iOS & Android: open the account settings screen and choose the delete-account option.

If you signed up with a password, you will be asked to re-enter it to confirm. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

What happens when you delete your account

As part of account deletion, we:

  • revoke access to all of your connected banks at Plaid;
  • cancel any active subscription and delete your customer record with our payment processor, Stripe;
  • delete your account and associated data — including your workspaces, connected items, accounts, transactions, notes, and settings — from our active systems.

We may retain a limited amount of information where we are legally required to, or to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. Residual copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups before being overwritten on our normal backup cycle.

Removing your data at Plaid

Disconnecting or deleting in Superbasic Finance revokes our access at Plaid. Plaid may retain data it holds about you under its own policies. To review or delete data held by Plaid directly, visit my.plaid.com. See our Plaid & Data Connection Policy for more.

Requesting deletion by email

If you cannot access your account, or you would like us to handle the deletion for you, email privacy@superbasicfinance.com from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request, and we will complete it within the time required by applicable law.

Deleting your account ends your access to the Service. If you have an active subscription, please also review our Subscription & Billing Terms for how cancellation and billing periods work.
